In the beginning, God created the Heavens and Earth. They were separated by a great rift, and the Heavens were treated as the Earthlings’ Afterlife. However, the Archangels decided to rid the rift and open up the bridge between the two planes of existence.
Angels and humans mingled alike. All was well. Although humans could not travel to Heaven without some prerequisites (dying), angels could freely move around on Earth, albeit at less power. Some set up their homes on Earth.
God disappeared, leaving the Archangels to reign. To compensate for prolonged absences, the Archangels established a monarchy of angels, dubbed the Royal Family. And soon, the Archangels, too, left Earth forever.
The Royal Family worked out well, until one angel was seduced by a human woman, who took the throne for herself. A war broke out, between the humans and the angels living on Earth, until Abaddon, an Archangel, wiped parts of Earth as a warning to those warring. It stopped at once.
The Royal Family was celestial once more. It took residence in one of the destroyed cities, rebuilding until humans and angels moved in both. The city’s name grew to be known as Icarus, a subtle warning to humans. The world’s best priests were called upon this time, and the winning family, the Dions, were instated as bodyguards for the Royal Family.
Almost a millennium later, Icarus faces treason and treachery once more. Apollo, the bodyguard for the heir apparent, faces trials and tribulations as he attempts to put an end to the rumors, rising violence, and more, all while discovering the true secrets of his family’s past.
