I have seen many, many images like this. This pulls it off very well.
First of all, I love your strokes. They are very etchy, edgy, and quite frankly, delicious. I really like the negative space in this photo, though the bottom left corner, where there is more black than the respective right, is driving me nuts. It seems to throw off the entire picture because of this negative space. I'm not saying that it ruins the picture, but I just wish there was more white in it.
I really like that this is very anatomically correct. You did your research well, I'm assuming.
I think one of my favorite parts is that you chose not to make the "skull" side of her face bald - the shading is something I have not seen before. That may be my favorite part, actually. Definitely.
